AUGUST FOR HEALING

The heat has taught me so much this summer and we are right in the middle of it. It slows me down and because of the time windows that are available for a leisurely outdoor adventure, one must schedule it. The word schedule for me is fearsome. I am slowly coming to terms that there is some beauty in a schedule if you treat it like a ritual. Spending time outside every day mindfully is a beautiful way to create union with the earth and yourself.

Forest Bathing Ritual

In Japan during the 80’s, a healing technique called Shinrin-yoku (taking in the forest’s atmosphere) came to be. There is no better feeling than receiving from the forest.

Arrive to the forest prepared with : essential oil based bug repellent; (we like de la heart’s natural bug repellent) an open mind and heart, and time.

Upon arrival, bend down to the earth and put your hands and feet on the ground. Introduce yourself and thank her (mother earth) for all she gives us. Proceed to walk, sit, jump, and play.

When you leave the forest, put your hands back on the ground and thank mother earth again. You may journal about this experience or keep it in your heart.

Recently, I hosted a garden party where we shared the jewelry collection. We sat in a circle, drank tea in silence, activated our “USE YOUR MAGIC WAND” by each sharing our personal magic and an intention for the wand. After the circle, we shared high vibration vegan food foraged and prepared by Drigo the Culinary Alchemist and danced into the sunset. It felt like a beautiful web of community as each person brought something really powerful and each person left with their magic activated.
